What sets the EPIC™ 25 BP apart from basic cool bag rucksacks?
It combines dense 20 mm insulation, rugged materials and a comfortable backpack carry. It keeps food and drinks cold far longer, carries more, and is built with durable fabrics, a top-quality zip and a fully leakproof TPU liner. It’s also equipped with practical accessories, making it suitable for real outdoor use.
What fits inside the 25-litre capacity?
Enough space for food and drinks for a full day out — multiple meal containers, fruit, snacks and several bottles or cans. It also fits multiple ice packs for longer cooling, or around 18–20 standard cans with ice packs when packed that way.
How long can the EPIC™ 25 BP keep food or drinks cold?
With good ice packs, you can typically expect around 24–48 hours of cooling, or even more with multiple large ice packs and pre-chilled items. We recommend our large ICE PRO™ XL ice packs for top performance.
Note: actual cooling time depends on how cold your items are when packed, how full the bag is, outside temperature and how often the zip is opened.
Can the backpack also keep meals warm?
Yes. The insulated walls slow heat loss as well as heat gain, allowing warm meals to stay warm for several hours.
Can I use the cooler backpack for hiking or longer walks?
Yes. While it’s primarily a cooler backpack rather than a technical hiking pack, many customers use it for hikes and longer walks and find it comfortable enough for that purpose. And having a cold drink at the end of the trail tends to make the carry more than worth it :)
Is this cool bag backpack fully leakproof?
The base and side walls are fully leakproof, and the front pocket uses a waterproof zip. The main top zip is not waterproof, so melted ice or water can escape if the bag is tilted. Why we didn’t choose a leakproof top zip? Simple fact: leakproof zips have a short lifespan and are prone to failure. A failed zip compromises insulation, so after testing multiple options, we opted for a heavy-duty SBS zip that stays reliable over time.
Does the cooler backpack stand upright on its own?
Yes. The EPIC™ 25BP stands upright on its own and doesn’t tip over easily. It was a priority for us to make the backpack stable when set down. The upright stance helps prevent meltwater from reaching the zip and keeps everything secure.
Which ice packs work best with the EPIC™ 25 BP?
The EPIC™ 25BP works with most ice packs and loose ice. ICE PRO™ XL packs fit the interior best, and two frozen XL units typically provide 1–2 days of effective cooling. Supplementing them with smaller ice packs between items, or adding loose ice, increases thermal mass and can extend cooling time.
Can the rucksack be used with regular ice as well as ice packs?
Yes. The EPIC™ 25BP is compatible with loose ice, ice blocks and all standard ice packs. Meltwater remains inside the leakproof liner. Ice packs typically offer longer cooling performance than loose ice.
How do I clean the inside and outside of the backpack?
The TPU liner can be gently pulled up for easier access. Wipe it with a soft cloth and mild detergent, and keep it out of direct sunlight while drying. The outer 840D fabric can be spot-cleaned with water. Do not machine wash.
Does the EPIC™ 25 BP fold or compress for storage?
Yes. Despite the thick insulation, the backpack can be pressed down and compressed to reduce its size when stored. It doesn’t fold completely flat, but it becomes much more compact.
