What sets the EPIC™ 5 apart from basic cool bags?
It uses a thick 20 mm insulation made from high-grade, higher-density foam, a premium TPU liner, an 840D outer fabric, and a two-way shape (bag form / box form). This results in stronger thermal performance and better durability than basic cool bags.
What fits inside the 5-litre capacity?
Typically a full lunch (box, fruit and a snack or drink), or a six-pack, plus one or two ice packs.
It can also hold compact set of items for travel or medication transport, along with ice packs.
Many customers also use it to keep temperature-sensitive cosmetics cool during travel.
How long can the EPIC™ 5 keep food or drinks cold?
With good ice packs, you can expect roughly 12–24 hours of cooling. Using the compatible ICE PRO™ packs (small version) often brings you closer to the upper end of that range.
Note: cooling time depends on the starting temperature of your items (pre-chilled items last longer), how full the bag is, outside temperature and how often the zip is opened.
Can the bag also keep meals warm?
Yes. The insulation works both ways and helps maintain the temperature of warm meals for several hours.
Is the EPIC™ 5 suitable for transporting medication?
Yes. It is often used for temperature-sensitive medication or injection that needs to stay chilled during travel.
In our tests with one-two small ICE PRO™ packs, the temperature stayed within a safe 2–10°C range for many hours without dropping below 0°C.
Always follow the specific storage instructions for your medication.
Is this cooler bag fully leakproof?
The base and side walls are fully leakproof. The front pocket zip is water-proof. However, the main top zip is not waterproof, so melted ice or water may seep through.
Note: The bag includes four tie-down points so it can be secured upright, for example in a car boot or on a motorbike or bicycle rack.
Why we didn’t choose a leakproof top zip?
Simple fact: leakproof zips tend to wear out quickly. Once they fail, the whole cooler loses most of its insulating ability. We’ve tested many and seen this first-hand. We prioritised long-term reliability, so the EPIC™ 5 uses a tough, heavy-duty SBS zip designed to last for years.
Which ice packs work best with the EPIC™ 5?
Any small to medium ice pack will work, as long as it fits inside. For the longest performance, we recommend small version of Ice Pro™ packs, which usually deliver the upper end of the cooling range.
Can the bag be used with regular ice as well as ice packs?
Yes. It can be used with regular ice cubes, ice blocks or ice packs. The leakproof base and walls contain condensation or meltwater. For the longest cooling time, we recommend using quality ice packs.
How do I clean the inside and outside of the bag?
The TPU liner can be gently pulled out for easier cleaning. Wipe it with a soft cloth and mild detergent, and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight. The outer fabric can be spot-cleaned with water. Do not machine wash.
Does the EPIC™ 5 fold or compress for storage?
Yes. The bag can be pressed down and compressed to take up less space when stored, even though the insulation is thick.
