ICE PRO™ – Long-Lasting Gel Ice Packs for Coolers & Lunch Boxes

In a decent-quality cooler bag, you can expect around 8 hours of cooling from a single ICE PRO™ (standard size). In well-insulated bags, 12 hours is often achievable.

Adding extra packs extends cooling time significantly. In our tests using two ICE PRO™ standard-sized packs inside our EPIC 5 cool bag, the internal temperature measured 6°C after 12 hours and 12°C after 24 hours (ambient temperature 23°C, empty bag, no openings during the test).

It depends on the size of your cool bag, the contents, and how long you want them to stay cold. For small lunch cooler bags, 1–2 ICE PRO™ packs in the standard size are usually enough to keep food chilled for the whole day. Adding more packs increases cooling time significantly — with 2–3 packs in a well-insulated cool bag or cool box (such as our EPIC series), 24 hours of effective cooling is achievable. To extend cooling, simply add more ice packs or use the XL version.

Yes — ICE PRO™ packs are fully reusable and designed to last for years. After the one-time setup, you can freeze and refreeze them as many times as needed. The aluminium-reinforced outer shell and durable nylon layers withstand repeated freezing cycles, pressure from food and drinks, and everyday use without splitting or leaking. Many customers use the same packs daily for long periods with no loss in performance.

Yes — many customers use ICE PRO™ packs for transporting medication and insulin, especially together with our EPIC 5 mini cool bag. When carrying liquid medication (such as injections), it’s important to avoid temperatures dropping below freezing. This usually means using fewer ice packs to maintain an optimal range of 1–10°C.

In our tests, one ICE PRO™ pack (standard size) in a well-insulated mini cool bag kept medication cool for 8–12 hours. Using two packs extended the cooling window to around 24 hours without temperatures falling below 0°C. For longer travels, use our large ice packs — they fit most medium-to-large cool bags and boxes.

Yes — ICE PRO™ packs are food-safe and BPA-free, so they can sit directly next to food items. One practical tip: avoid placing a frozen pack in direct contact with temperature-sensitive products such as liquid medication, as this may cause freezing. After use, simply rinse the pack with water and wipe it dry if needed.

Both the ICE PRO™ Standard and XL packs are slim and flat enough to fit neatly between items in your cool bag or cool box. However, they are not fully rigid or perfectly flat like hard plastic blocks, so they won’t stack together in a perfectly uniform way. Their flexible, gel-filled design is optimised for cooling performance and space efficiency rather than stacking.

Yes — the setup is always one-time. Once you add water, shake, and secure the plug, the pack is permanently sealed. You cannot refill or replace the gel later. The formula mixes with the water to form a thick, dense gel that becomes the pack’s cooling “fuel” and delivers its long-lasting performance when frozen.

Yes. Many customers travel with our ice packs when carrying medication or other temperature-sensitive items. When the packs are frozen, they are in a solid state and are generally not treated as liquids at airport security. For added peace of mind, we can provide safety information that you may show to security staff during the screening process. Just contact us if you need it.

The packs are flexible at room temperature, and their shape can be adjusted slightly before freezing. Many customers reshape them to fit around specific items and then place them in the freezer in that form. Once frozen, the gel becomes a solid ice-like block, so the shape cannot be changed afterwards.

To clean the pack, simply rinse it with water and wipe it dry if needed. When not in use, you can store ICE PRO™ packs in the freezer so they’re always ready, or keep them at room temperature in any convenient place. Just remember to return them to the freezer at least 8 hours before use — ideally 12 hours to ensure they are fully frozen to the core.
